where it all began

built 1972
August 1972
Doug and Anna Petrie started the trailer business in 1972

With humble beginnings they launched the new business with three Master Coach Travel Trailers, manufactured in Quebec.

June 1973
Less then 1 year later the original building was constructed.

At the time Niagara Trailers had 4 staff members, including Doug and Anna themselves.

AUGUST 1973
Shortly after the building was completed, they began selling brand name trailers.

One of the first brands they brought on board was Prowler, produced by Fleetwood of Canada, in Lindsay, Ontario.

JANUARY 1980
Niagara Trailers truly becomes a family affair

By this point the whole family, Doug Jr., Debbie and Johnny were working in the family business as it continued to grow at a rapid pace.

OCTOBER 1987
Niagara Trailers grew because of customer service and the commitment to the RV lifestyle

With this commitment came the purchase of campgrounds along the years, including Sherkston Beach in 1987, Grand River RV Resort in 1989 and Lighthouse RV Resort in 2006.

FEBRUARY 2002
Niagara Trailers loses an icon

Doug Sr, the founder of Niagara Trailers loved the outdoors, camping, and driving his tractor. When he passed in 2002, John Petrie took over the day to day operations.

SEPTEMBER 2005
Following in his late Father's footsteps

John Petrie has grown the business to what it is today, which includes over 400 trailers, 20 plus acres, 7 sales staff, an amazing service team, productive parts department and helpful finance managers.
